Bat Shit Crazy Embroidered Morale Patch

This merrowed edge, Velcro-backed and 100% embroidered morale patch includes a matching Velcro (loop) piece which can be sewed onto the article of your choosing (rucksack, backpack, baseball hat or range bag). I was inspired to pursue creating this patch after reading the phrase “bat shit crazy” in Back in the Fight: The Explosive Memoir of a Special Operator Who Never Gave Up, an autobiography written by SFC Joseph Kapacziewski who was a member of the United States Army’s 3rd Ranger Battalion. The orange diamond background was chosen because the color creates an eye-catching contrast with the other colors that were utilized for this patch and it is also reminiscent of the orange diamonds that were painted on the backs of the helmets that were worn by the U.S. Army 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions during World War II.

Interestingly, I remember that some of my Ranger buddies always referred to their Ranger Battalion as being a “Ranger Bat;” they never referred to it as being a Ranger Battalion.

FYI - Although I am a U.S. Army veteran, I did not serve in or with the Rangers.
